Posse Herrera Ruiz acted as local advisor to Odinsa SA, a Grupo Argos concessions company, in the closing of the strategic alliance with Macquarie Asset Management (MAM), the largest infrastructure asset manager in the world, for the operation and investment in Odinsa’s road infrastructure business in Colombia, according to what was announced a few months ago.
This announcement is made after complying with the preceding conditions, including procedures before national authorities such as the Financial Superintendence, the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce and the National Infrastructure Agency;Â as well as obtaining authorizations from financiers, insurers, concessions and their shareholders.
This new investment platform, which due to its size is already positioned among the leaders in the region, will own the stakes in the road projects owned by Odinsa in Colombia: PacÃfico 2, Túnel Aburrá Oriente, Autopistas del Café and Malla Vial del Goal; in addition to the participation in projects and initiatives in structuring, which include the expansion of the Oriente Tunnel, in Antioquia; Perimetral de la Sabana, in Cundinamarca and Conexión Centro, in the Coffee Region.
The presence of Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) in the Colombian market through this alliance confirms the interest of large investors in the infrastructure sector and the country;Â given that through the platform investment and value creation opportunities will continue to be explored to promote the connectivity of Colombia and the region.
Macquarie will bring its extensive global experience in the road sector to further strengthen the results of current and future projects, which, combined with Odinsa’s experience and knowledge in the region, will drive the growth of the newly consolidated platform.
