POSSE HERRERA RUIZ ADVISED BANCO BILBAO VIZCAYA ARGENTARIA S.A., NEW YORK BRANCH IN THE REFINANCING GRANTED TO CONTUGAS S.A.C. FOR USD 320 MILLION
Posse Herrera Ruiz acted as Colombian legal counsel to Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria S.A., New York Branch, in connection with its role as lead arranger in the structuring, negotiation and closing of a USD$320 million refinancing of a syndicated loan facility granted to Contugas S.A.C.
The refinancing was structured through an amendment to the original credit agreement governed by the laws of New York backed by a corporate guarantee granted by Contugas’ shareholders, Grupo EnergÃa Bogotá S.A. E.S.P. and Transportadora de Gas Internacional S.A. E.S.P.
Contugas S.A.C. is a leading Peruvian natural gas distributor, part of the GEB Group.
