On March 28, 2023, the President of the Republic presented before the Chamber of Deputies an initiative to reform the Mining Laws;Â of National Waters;Â of Ecological Balance and Environmental Protection, and General for the Prevention and Integral Management of Waste, which intends to modify various provisions regarding mining concessions.
Through this initiative, it is proposed to reduce the duration of the concession titles from 50 to 15 years, a validity that would be extendable only once for the same period, likewise, new grounds for cancellation and crimes for non-compliance are established. Read more
