On October 4, 2023, the “DECREE granting fiscal incentives to encourage the use of electronic means of payment†(hereinafter the “Decreeâ€) was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation. Through a Transitional Provision, it is established that the Decree will be in force from the day following its publication and until December 31, 2024.
Consistent with the Decree published during 2022, a fiscal stimulus is granted that may be applied by financial entities and other entities that issue cards under the protection of a brand holder when the cardholder holder can be identified, or, through the entities participating in networks of means of disposal that provide infrastructure or point-of-sale terminals and services to recipients of payments with credit or debit cards, in terms of the contract they have entered into with the Clearing House for Card Payments, and in accordance with the “General Provisions applicable to Disposal Media Networks” issued by the Bank of Mexico.
