OCAMPO’s insurance and reinsurance practice was born within the litigation practice. Today, OCAMPO’s insurance and reinsurance practice is wide enough to provide almost every legal need insurance and reinsurance related clients might have. Insurance and reinsurance claims and litigation is still the oldest and ongoing practice. OCAMPO also represents clients in all aspects of insurance and reinsurance transactions. Transactions range from the inception of insurance contracts and reinsurance treaties and to regulatory matters.
The firm’s insurance and re- insurance practice has a wide range of clients from insurance and reinsurance companies to energy industries with risk administration and insurance matters needs. In recent years OCAMPO has participated in energy claims (PEMEX), for a combined amount of 1200+ MUSD and in one of the must important aviation claims in the country. Currently OCAMPO is handling Covid-19 claims and representing reinsurers in different claims. OCAMPO is part of Global Insurance Law

Corporate:
OCAMPO’s corporate law team and practice has more than 30 years of a broad and solid experience in legal advice and management of complex transactions within the different areas of business law. In late 2017, Mitchell Esqueda joined the firm to lead this practice. The practice includes the total spectrum of commercial and business transactions; as well as corporate governance, investments and M&A, all of them very important aspects in today’s globalised world. The practice offers, among others, the following areas: commercial law, compliance, legal management, highly regulated industries, immigration law, contracts, joint ventures, trusts, negotiation and restructuring and insolvency. OCAMPOs corporate and litigation teams, join to produce strategies either to avoid litigation or to have a strong position.
Surety:
This practice is highly extensive and dates back to the mid-1980s when Afianzadora Insurgentes consulted OCAMPO regarding several important lawsuits. Today OCAMPO serves several surety and bonding companies, from the regulatory scope to litigation. Recently OCAMPO assisted Federación Mexicana de Futbol in Surety Claims and currently represents Dorama.
Litigation & Dispute Resolution:
Litigation is OCAMPO’s most highly developed practice as it is where OCAMPO’s roots lie and have been continuously practiced since. OCAMPO looks to advise its clients in the prevention of risks and controversies in civil and commercial litigation, whether through arbitration or the courts; however, the team is prepared to protect clients’ rights and interests in the case of a lawsuit. OCAMPO’s experience throughout the years has afforded the firm the aptitude to intervene in all types of controversies, representing both the plaintiff as well as the defendant before Federal and State Courts, or if applicable, before arbitration tribunals. Litigation permeates throughout all the areas of the firm which allows it to continuously maintain a preventative vision in the analysis of other commercial or financial operations, providing opinions that tend to look for the best position and greatest protection of the firm’s client in contract performance and to respond to potential controversies. Currently OCAMPO is advising Prosa, the biggest payment intermediary in the country in their must important claims. The firm represents its clients in all types of lawsuits, whether as plaintiff or defendant, such as: ordinary commercial or civil proceedings, bankruptcy proceedings, liability and Amparo pleads.
